May is the warmest month of the year in Yucatan. As the heat rises, the desire to be close to the ocean increases. The crystal-clear water of the sea particular of this season welcomes all the people arriving on the weekends to their beach houses escaping the agitated life of the city. Early in the mornings you can see a few people kayaking along the coast and a few more running trying to catch the beautiful sunrise welcoming a new day full of joy and new promises in a paradise called the Yucatan Emerald Coast.
People are not the only living creatures arriving to paradise, May is the month when turtles come back to the place where they were born to put their eggs. If you are lucky enough you might spot one of these beautiful moments of nature taking place right in front of you. The turtles usually come in the early hours of the day but you can see their footprints in the white sand if you go for an early walk.
A beautiful pair of birds returned this year to put their eggs in one of my porch wicker lamps. I guess they liked my house because they came last month to start creating their nest again. I saw their eggs 2 days ago, it´s such a beautiful moment, I love hearing them sing while I write this post.
The birds are not the only babies I got, Chela the iguana who loves to tan on my perimetral wall also put her eggs somewhere in my property and I got a squirrel who also found a comfortable place at the top of one of my palm trees to have her babies. Achilles and Dante (my dogs) are always watching her when she comes down to look for food to feed her babies.
June and July are coming and many families will arrive to enjoy the sought after summer season at the Yucatan Emerald Coast.
See you guys in my next post!
